Dallas Mavericks owner and investor Mark Cuban let’s Google know exactly what he thinks of their inability to stop thousands of spam blogs appearing over the weekend.

The blogosphere was hit by a splogbomb. Someone did the inevitable and wrote a script that created blog after blog and post after post.

Im not talking 100 blogs with a 100 posts each. Im talking what could easily turn into 10s of THOUSANDS of blogs pinging out millions of posts !

Some Cuban’s suggested fixes are not exactly practical.

Its not an imposition to ask a blog poster to confirm their post with a link inside an email, or a word confirmation.

Oh yes is bloody well is. You want Google to hinder the ability of thousands of regular blogger users? I can see the need to make it hard to set-up these spam blogs, but a challenge/response everytime I want to make a post? What’s the next bright idea, stop email spam by asking us to call in to an automated center to verify each email we want to send?
