Google Continues to Make Footstool of Yahoo and MSN

According to new ComScore data, Google continues to dominate the search space, growing its market share…
…users climbed from 42.7 percent to 43.1 percent from March to April of this year–up from 36.5 percent in April 2005.
Yahoo and MSN? Not so much…
In second place, Yahoo saw its market share hold steady at 28 percent between March and April, a decrease of 2.7 percent from last year.
MSN also continued to fall, leaving its market share at 12.9 percent in April of this year, down from 16.1 percent at the same time last year
Cool, glad to see Yahoo knows how to beat Google. And Microsoft might need more than 5 years, if they have any chance at all. ![]()

Search is just one piece of the pie… and usually one that quickly drives people off of the search site… its wrong to consider Yahoo a footstool to anyone as they are still the top web destination and Google sends plenty of traffic their way - the search user leaves to find the site that will provide sought after answers.
Too often search-watchers are in awe of Google’s apparent search prowess while forgetting their inferiority in everything else especially original content. And too often they are put up on a pedestal (compared to another’s footstool) as a result.

Fair enough, except I am comparing search with search, not search with web properties - Google is clearly whiping Yahoo’s butt in that comparison.
Also, I hope you’re not suggesting I am too far up Google’s butt. You might want to read my blog on a regular basis before drawing that conclusion

Nah - not up their butt, but maybe some rose-colored glasses from time-to-time (many are guilty of this).
PS: Yes, actually I’ve been reading your writings for several years now - great stuff!

I try to give Google a little sugar, a little medicine.
Thanks for being a regular!
