Nothing quite replaces experience and reputation when it comes to search engine marketing, but not everyone can make that claim. For those that either need some help learning about search or perhaps need some credibility assistance, the DMA has launched a certification program.

Lee Odden has the details.

  • I think this is a great first step but there should be an experience component included in any “certification”. Also with so many seo sem certication vendors out there who is going to “certify” them. I think having organizations like the DMA, SEMPO, Society of Internet Professional and SEO Pros behind a certification program is great but won’t that lead to a confused audience? Who’s is best? How can you tell? And what about the dozen or so other seo sem certification vendors? We’ll see!
