While I had already graduated when Facebook became big (in 2004, whereas I graduated in ’03), this makes complete sense. Interestingly enough, I don’t think it’s all about students getting acclimated to their new schedules: its traffic decline also corresponds with the brouhaha surrounding the news feeds, about which Mark Zuckerberg released an open letter to the community on September 8th.
