Nick Denton Takes Valleywag to New Lows

So much for Nick Denton’s plans to direct Valleywag into a more upscale news site. There’s been much talk that Nick’s jealous of TechCrunch’s success and hence his attempts to refine Valleywag.

Well, let me tell ya Nick. Posts such as..

Google baby’s first words…We learned today that Sergey Brin’s first word was golova, which means head in Russian.

…hardly convey an image of a site that wants to be taken more seriously. Why not just accept what Valleywag is? If you really want to compete with TechCrunch, create a site that conveys that image. I tell you what, drop me a line and we’ll chat about it.
