My Cover is Blown!

Man, I hoped that no one would ever figure out why Andy let me write here (I know I didn’t get it until today). And then The Lisa tells all. This makes so much sense now.

And now for the news round up list of things that probably would have been in Pilgrim’s Picks if Andy weren’t in Tahiti:

Major changes in Google Local Business Center (also on SEW)

MySpace to get news, and not just my teenage sister’s gossip

More competition or more content for YouTube? In a way, both. MTV, Nickelodeon Vets Plan Next New Networks: Online Video Sites For Enthusiasts

>Google’s Schmidt Says Media Companies Need YouTube (that one almost makes me sad)

More competition for iTunes: NBC Poised To Sell Digital Downloads. Lazy Sunday is back! (Disclosure: I’ve never even seen that skit.)

Weaving The Web To Your Taste (”Hossein Eslambolchi’s service will scour the Net for the media you want”)

MediaPost asks: Is Impression Fraud More Dangerous Than Click Fraud? and Should Google Buy Blinkx? Hm….

More mobile marketing news: Nokia Jumps Into Mobile Ads With “Nokia Ad Service” Program

Slightly different type of mobile news: Patent: Google Phone knows what you want before you search. A little impressive, a little scary.

Why Firefox has lost its mojo

Google Link Count update (full link update impending)

Online ad spending grew 34% last year: 2006 Online Ad Spending = $16.8B

Christopher Payne, VP of Live Search, to leave MSFT, apparently of his own accord. See also Experts Mixed On Effect Of Microsoft Search Leader’s Departure.

Google + Frienster = deal and Friendster’s new patent

I think that’s about it. Remember to spring forward on Sunday!

Jordan, some of your links dun work, if they were intended to be links: “Google’s Schmidt Says Media Companies Need YouTube” & “Should Google Buy Blinkx? Hm….” is linked to the wrong post…

  2. Brian Says:

Google wins again.. I still can’t believe the traffic still going to Friendster - 8 billion per month. I thought people had stopped using it once MySpace caught on.

I didn’t even realize you were a female. It’s hard to tell online, especially with a name like Jordan. Maybe I’ll pay more attention to your posts now. Or maybe I’ll read based on post topic like always.

I certainly hope Andy referring to me as ’she’ and my picture don’t make it hard to tell…

Well I only started reading this site often a few months ago. I must have missed your introduction. There also could have been some mentiones of “she” that I just missed.
