Why Jordan Blogs

Wow, I got tagged. (Turns out Serph comes in handy after all; I got bored and went to check my reputation today and totally would have missed this otherwise, which is weird since I read SoloSEO.)

So, five reasons why I blog:

  • It’s my job. (Thank you, Andy!)
  • I am completely obsessed with it. Just ask my family, here visiting for one week from nearly 2000 miles away, first time I’ve seen them all year, what I did most of the day yesterday.
  • I like not having to worry about impartiality. Hurray grey area; I’m a subjective kind of girl.
  • Obligatory Unusual Reason: I’m a total grammar/spelling/punctuation Nazi. It absolutely drives me crazy to see “it’s” when it should be “its.” If I blog, I get to make sure that that doesn’t happen (as often).
  • I didn’t think I needed the praise of complete strangers, but y’know what? It’s really nice. (And they’re not strangers anymore!)

Now I shall tag:
Liana Evans
Jennifer Laycock
Jennifer Slegg (aka HRH Queen of Search)
Chris Winfield
Blake Snow

Go at it!

Don’t forget to check out the blog meme tracker where you’ll notice you double tagged someone. :)

I’m a fellow spelling nazi too.

I actually used it to make sure that I did double tag people, but only those who hadn’t yet responded. I’m just not feeling creative enough today.

And I figured out why I hadn’t seen the post yet: it took a while to wend its way to Google Reader. I got it soon after I hit publish.

Jordan “its” a pleasure to have you with us. :-)

Sorry for the tag. However, I do love your work, Marketing Pilgrim is lucky to have you. I never miss a post, and appreciate the time and effort you obviously put in to your writing. I am never dissappointed.

  5. Michael Jensen Says:

    Andy, you’re so cruel. :)

Aaron, you look like my twin (Andy, what’s up with the mybloglog photo comment plugin?).

  6. Andy Beal Says:

Michael - I think it’s on their end.

  7. Jordan McCollum Says:

Aaron–You don’t have to apologize (unless you regret tagging me ;) ). I’m quite flattered by the tag and your kind words. Thank you!

[...] I’ve been tagged by Salman Siddiqui of CompuWorld to share five reasons why I blog. I did this a month ago at work, but as I think about it, I guess there’s at least one reason that’s different for my personal blogging. [...]
