<description>Hehe, I think it&#039;s time for another visit to Flying Fish (hint hint G!)

The Aussie online playground is going through interesting times and there is a definite skills shortage!

Two of the 3 big &#039;portals&#039; mentioned above are partnered with 2 of the 3 big commercial tv networks.

The 3rd portal belongs to Sensis, who are a slow moving juggernaut that largely rely on their popular whitepage, yellowpage print-to-online directory offerings.

The Ten network is the 3rd commercial tv network, who have arguably the most online friendly demographic (teens to young adults), but probably the lowest online reach of the 3.

Meanwhile, Google is doing what G does best, by staying out of the portal biz and forging strategic advertising alliances instead: http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2007/05/18/google-partnership-with-fairfax-digital-announced
(disclaimer: I work for Fairfax Digital ;) )

PS. Aside from croc wrestling, looks like Google could do with a few netballers: http://google-au.blogspot.com/2007/05/google-vs-ebay-netball-championship.html</description>
