Odeo Acquired by SonicMountain

Back in February we reported that Evan Williams had decided to sell-off podcast service Odeo, in light of the success of Twitter.

TechCrunch is now reporting that the deal is done, and Sonic Mountain has acquired the brand and technology for a sum north of $1 million.

A million seems a little low. I know everyone is proclaiming that podcasting is doing well, but it sure does not seem like it.

Odeo was the former Pyra Labs/Blogger peoples’ try to strike gold for a second time, and while it never really took off, it featured some great technology and has a known name and userbase.
