If you’ve not seen updated reports from Google Analytics since sometime on Saturday, please leave a comment. A few people are reporting the same and I’ve dropped an email to the GA team to see what’s up.
Please leave a comment if you’re seeing the same.
Thanks!
UPDATE: Here’s the explanation from Google…
There is a temporary reporting delay within Google Analytics accounts. For most accounts, reporting is current through this past Saturday night. Please note that no data will be lost – data will continue to be collected and processed during this time.
We are in the process of fully updating your Google Analytics account data and will display it within your reports as soon as possible. Please note, you are still able to log in to your accounts and access all the data through Saturday. We will update this blog when reporting is fully restored.
We apologize for any inconvenience this delay in reporting has caused. Thank you for using Google Analytics.
Why did it take 2 days and some whining for us to get this information? Come on guys, we know it’s free, but when you’re telling us that GA is as robust as any analytics tool, we expect at least some better communication.
UPDATE 2: Google reports that data is starting to filter back through…
We are starting to update reporting in all Google Analytics accounts affected by the delay. As of 5pm PST this evening, some users will start to see part or all of the data from the period between Saturday and now appear in reports. We expect updates for all accounts to continue through Monday night into tomorrow and will update this blog when reporting is fully restored.

Yep, got that on 2 little sites I have running GA.
One site recorded 1 page view on Sunday, the other recorded none. While Saturdays page views looked in the normal kind of range. So thinking nothings been recorded since fairly late Saturday, UK time.

Yep, I got one visitor showing on Sunday (UK) – noticed something similar happen in the middle of last week and it seemed to catch up a day or two after.

Thanks guys. GA often has a lag in reporting data, but not normally this long and not without some comment from someone at Google. Maybe the stitches busted on the recent facelift.

Yep. My first thought was “have I offended the Google gods in some way?” … but no. Comparisons with Urchin stats and other site provided stats packages don’t jive – for the last few days. Something is definitely wrong.

Google Analytics down for wink.com as well. Started dropping about 3 PM on July 28. And down completely since July 29. Usually when this happens it comes back in a few hours. This seems to be the longest outage. Surprised no comment from Google.

The 1-2 day delay in acknowledging the problem is troubling. Of course, we get what we pay for…
Andy Beal Says:
July 30th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
@Ontario – I would normally agree with you. But Google’s working hard to convince big companies that GA is as robust as other paid solutions. This doesn’t help their cause.

Keri Morgret Says:
July 30th, 2007 at 7:32 pm
Andy, you mean the mice don’t have their own cafeterias? I bet that’s why Google doesn’t report all of your inlinks either, those mice just don’t have enough energy to find all of them.
