With all of the recent Facebook talk, you’re probably still trying to figure out how you can use the social network to promote you business. I can hear you now: “I know it’s popular Andy, but how can I use Facebook to promote my business?” ~ spooky, huh?

Well, SocialMedia wants to help you develop and launch widgets for Facebook. Not just any old widget, but ones that become very popular AND make you money at the same time.

As Inside Facebook explains

They will bring your app in house onto their servers, sell your ad inventory, and help you bake sponsored features into your application. The price? A hefty 50% commission, but hey, better than nothing if you?re a lone developer without cash to spend on servers.

SocialMedia already has some success stories under their belt, including “FoodFight, which has distribution of 1,750,000, and Happy Hour, which with 900,000 users in its first week has become one of the fastest growing apps on Facebook so far.”

See, we’re not just hear to tell you Facebook is popular, we want to help you make money from it too! 😉

  • Facebook is growing and its really cool, i ran bya site very similar peekamo. BUt this blog caught my attention how exactly can you make money off of facebook?????????????

  • There has been a lot of buzz in the media here in the UK about social media after a student was identified from their page.

She had done some sort of celebration prank and now faces discipline.

There is an application made in which people can click ads for money. It’s really easy to do, go to this link to add the application.

  • I’m still trying to figure out how to make money from Facebook, so this is interesting to learn about. Thanks.

The best way to make money from facebook is the way that facebook is making money. Data mining, get as many friends, fans, or groups as possible, gather as much data as you can on these people and sell it to companies. this is what facebook is doing, don’t believe the advertising revenue, though they do make a small amount on ad revenue the largest revenue is from selling your data.

  • Social media is a great company to work with for both publishers and advertisers, we recommend them to all the clients we develop applications for and to those who buy apps from our website! 🙂

  • This is interesting. However, I don’t think it’s a solution for the ordinary person trying to make some extra money with their Facebook profile. Sure, it’s a good idea to promote your brand or business, but that’s a whole different concept from people who just want to make some side income with Facebook.

For side income, I recommend looking into creating cult-like followings with groups, getting lots of friends, and creating effective campaigns with Social Ads.

I’ve written a guide on how I do it. To give you an idea, check out my free step-by-step Squidoo Lens that explains exactly how to make money with Facebook Social Ads:

    Anyone can do this.

I agree with Hooman. It doesn’t seem like a solution to make money from your profile, plus you dont’ want a spammy profile or your friends won’t want to visit your page as it will be filled with too many boxes.

I’ve been using Facebook Cash Flow to make money on Facebook. I haven’t done much with it so far, but it’s paying my $600/month rent bill. So for the little work I’ve done, so far so good!

Who else has been making money from Facebook?

  • Very informative lens on facebook. It is a question on my mind on how to use facebook to improve my social networking. Thank you.
