Happy hump-day! Here’s this morning’s piping hot marketing news.
- Joost has 1 million beta users signed up. Great, but how many of them are active? I watched it once and haven’t been back since.
- More reason to suspect a Facebook sale or IPO, they just hired YouTube’s former CFO.
- Microsoft’s ads are coming to Electronic Arts video games. Does this mean we’ll get cheaper games in return for putting up with ads? I doubt it.
- Forget “local” the smart VC money is going to “hyperlocal” sites such as Going.com.

Those video game prices are ridiculous…and everybody knows the price drops significantly once every 3-6 months. Ads are just going to increase Microsoft’s profits (and EA…)
