Are you looking to reduce adwords cost on the regular one? I recommend you to take a look at http://get-google-ads-free.blogspot.com Google giving out free mobile ads is a very good idea! I’m going to test with azoogle ringtone campaigns. Everyone should too! (fat profits!)

Having “normal” adwords campains for 100.000,- pr. month i cant see why mobile users should click. Mobile users dont surf and search so much.

Sounds like the bait and switch game to me…. Dangle the free carrot get them in the door, converting landing pages to this mobile formate and then – the short time frame is gone and like it or not, all the effort spent obligates most to continue with service….
I expect nothing less from this gorilla – gorilla tactic… if beat up opponents and side track clients…

Really good post, thanks for the info that is a good move by google!

My question to you guys is this one:
Is this a service that is only reserved to American advertisers? I cannot find information about that… furthermore, can you go out there and design a new canpaign with new ads and landing pages designed for mobile search, or is google simply going to adapt your conent to suit mobile phone browsers? And which ones? because opera displays images much better than standard browsers for example.

It makes a lot of sense for them to give away the ads for free so they can get some ads to show. Andy I agree that this could easily go beyond the Nov 18t date. Wasn’t that the way things went with Checkout?

I actually think that this is an excellent move by Google to set this new addition into motion. Before this actually begins to catch on I think that it makes a lot of sense to provide sites with free ads on mobile devices until mid-November. It will be interesting though to see if they will have enough advertisers by this date. I think they might!

Google is the master of giving stuff away for free – I suspect that the Nov 18th deadline is too soon and they won’t have enough advertisers by then. I bet they extend it.
