once again they did it again (monkey with a buttom)

seems there are bunch of retards that think just because they ban if from turkey , now nobody will see that video or what ever they banned it for

mean time the PEOPLE that banned the webside DIDNT inform the website operators about the insulting video, (since it was the most logical action to do)
instead they pull this crap out of there briliant minds

i just hope that they wounth ban the www (world wide web) for containing context that they just dont like , or failed to report

i live in turkey , and to see this kind of poor judgements is tipical daily life here

I won’t want to mislead anoyone so I had to correct a possible misunderstanding. The quoted thing was not the case with recent YouTube issue, but only a general prosedure. The issue did not reach that level. Even if it had done, that would not have been the end of world for YouTube users.

Turkey actually is a modern country while it is in the middle of everything. I don’t mean only geoghraphically. Everything. It’s a looong story.

Besides the fact that the latest ban never occurred, I want to say that every country has some weirdness in their law system; but this won’t make a country “weirdest” and special. I also want to say that Internet and youtube for this subject is the last independent media and these actions shows us that it can lose this perk in near future. And I hope that those DNS workarounds are left there as an inner resistance by the applier ISP and DNS.

This actually never has prevented anyone from accesing YouTube but the current laws concerning the internet are utterly awkward, undoubtedly. There is no censorship upon the data flow, only certain DNSs resolve the URLs to a custom warning page. Add the poorly operating justice system and it’s no more surprise this type of stuff happens again and again.

For those who don’t know Turkey, it is the weirdest country in the world by a long shot.

yeah, our Telco thing bans everything,
banned yotube, megaupload, wordpress.
few days ago i got invitation to new site whose blog was also hosted on wordpress and i could not see it…
whatever the purpose is, they way chose is very wrong.

@Mavromatis – thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I don’t have any contacts in Turkey, so trusted AP’s reporting.

One thing to consider, the courts have ordered that YouTube be banned, but didn’t say when the ban should go into effect.

As I already mentioned the second ban didn’t actually happen. It is probably a hoax but I don’t know why they did it. I never noticed a news about it in the Turkish media and they are even tv programs showing selected video clips from youtube so the ban will probably strike them too. I also want to say that next time you talk about censorship please don’t just copy paste and try to ask a real person
