A little later today, I’ll jump on a plane and head to Vegas for the WebTrends Engage 2007 conference. I’m on a panel discussion Tuesday to discuss “Consumer Engagement.” If you’re there, please say hi.
So, as I get ready to pack my bags, here’s some news to keep you out of trouble.
- Google’s warned for many months that those selling links could see some kind of penalty. It appears they’re now reducing the PageRank of the worst offenders.
- You can now get Google Desktop Gadgets on your iGoogle homepage.
- Blinkx is launching a new Broadband TV video service.

I am hoping the Google penalty issue will be the spark that ignites the sweeping change with the way in which website owners display and disclose paid links.
