This idea would be very useful in shopping for other things too and getting the opinion of other family members, like furniture, colors of carpet etc. Awesome.

That is an extremely good point, and I think something people should look into more.

With regard to adding video or audio tours to online sites, I just hope that the sellers text descriptions of items they are selling don’t get lost in the mix.

Sometimes I want to view a video about a product but most of the time I just want to read about what is being sold and be on my way. Even with a fast connection most videos take a while to load or auto play before fully loading, and that bothers me.

Though I will say it is nice to have videos about expensive products, for example I am looking at buying an electric drum kit which is rather expensive but I have seen sellers sites who show demo videos of the drums in action which really helps.
