It's too early to talk about social searching, because noone has done it. But soon it will be relevant

The "also try:(...)" label they already have kind of emulates the "other users searched for" tags, doesn't it?

Google needs to be very meticulous with it's experimentation. They've already created this empire and could easily fracture it under unpopular circumstances.

At this point, I doubt we'll be seeing something like this from G but I have to admit that the thought is indeed interesting.

I don't mind seeing recommendations from people I'm connected to as long as the underlying results aren't reordered based on what someone I happen to have friended on a social networking site likes.

Social search can work if it's not taken too far. If all the results I see end up being controlled by what my network likes I'll either pare down my network or change the way I search.

I hope Google doesn't start changing my SERP based on what my friends have visited.

There are many different reasons to select a "friend" and their opinion on the best search results is probably low down the list.

Give me the best SERP in the world, not just the best among my friends!
