Otilia's thought is the right one, but Yahoo is incapable of such campaigns. They seem to have lost their way some where along the line. Recent departures of some of their top people have now become a flood!!

A little twist on the email topic: Google's Gmail is way behind Yahoo Mail in many markets. I remember them running huge campaigns (on both their search and content properties) to shift users to Gmail last year, when Gmail ads invaded a lot of sites running AdSense. Later industry reports showed that no much success was registered. In my opinion, focusing on user retention and new user acquisition (as in users looking to open their first account) should be the winning strategy, instead of trying to shift users from one service to another. Yahoo's email service is pretty good, if they improve it even more, it'll be one hell of an email platform!

Perhaps it is a bit too late for yahoo to do this. Most serious email users have fixed their email addresses already and it will be quite a nuisance to change.
