Pilgrim’s Picks for June 5

How about that Stanley Cup Final, huh? After a thrilling Penguins victory in game 5, they were just outplayed by the Red Wings last night.

Unlike Fleury, none of these Picks slipped through my legs and bumped into the net by my own butt. ;-)

  • Yahoo has announced the public launch of the Yahoo! Search Gallery–now you can customize your search experience.
  • Finally signs that mobile applications might actually be worth using. Yelp is working on an iPhone app that will automatically show you restaurants within 5 blocks of your location, complete with reviews!
  • We don’t need better advertising platforms, we need better ad creative!
  • Aegis Group–which owns Isobar and iProspect–has acquired Russian marketing agency AdWatch in a deal reported to be worth more than $20 million.

    I was just reading the post about RipoffReport site and how it ruins reputations. There is a new website which is much more alarming than that site. The site is iRipoff.com it allows people to post anonymous complaints as well as attach photos and recorded audio.

    You haven’t adopted the Blue Jackets? They need your support, plus Nash is a stud to boot. Poor Andy is a Canes fan, but it is easy to forgive him because at least he enjoys hockey.

    Nope I am sticking with my Wings. I loved them through the Dead Wings period so I am going to love them now.

    Mobile apps really excite me. The cellphone towers are able to triangulate your position to within a couple of hundred metres, and feeding that data into the system is the key to local search. Glad to see Yelp leading the way here, others are bound to follow though, just watch this space….
