There are many other 3D chats that are more similar to Lively (There, IMVU, etc.). But one thing I find Google did that makes it stand out from the rest is the ability to embed your chat room in your own website. But I'm sure it won't be long until many other 3D chats give you this option. Lively also is lacking any type of "world," right now it's just a bunch of chat rooms with no connection except you can find them listed on lively.com Lively doesn’t feel to me like they really copied Second Life.
