The Google search appliance would be brilliant if they had a cheaper version for small businesses too. While its current price isn’t outrageous, I feel that it still is a bit too much for a small company that’s undecided if they need it or not.

Implementation is a tad bit hairy but they do have engineers to assist on-site. I really believe the search appliance should be promoted more aggressively in the small and mid-sized business environment - it’s a pity G still doesn’t have enough sales and support force for it, while spend ing valuable resources for all sort of wacky services or products.

It would appear that right now they are focused on the individual user. I do see the day when they will have a lot more on offer for the small and medium scale businesses. This is all for the good.
