Pilgrim’s Picks for September 3

I don’t like September. Sure, the weather in Raleigh drops back down to the 80’s but that just reminds me that winter is on the way.

While I get over it, and remind myself that I’m lucky to live the moderate climate of the South, you can enjoy today’s Picks:

I’m very pleased there’s an update to Picasa at last. Great software, but it definitely needed a freshening up. The update seems almost to have been buried in the news about Chrome.

(Oh, and I love September … it’s finally beginning to cool down a little here in Israel after a very hot summer.)

Ah, those beloved fat ads. Every female we know on FB keeps getting them. They’re truly delightful.

I am amazed at how many 30-40 year olds are on Facebook (me included)- the applications are so sophomoric and truly makes me feel like I am back in high school again (which is why I focused a rant blog article on the subject of Facebook. Would love to know what others my age think. Check it out on http://www.workmommies.blogspot.com

As an 18-65 year old who is an avid user of facebook, I can confirm that non of my 100 or so friends in the same age group have heard of the term “Social Networking”

I can understand the majority not knowing the exact term ’social networking’ as its quite technical, but I bet they have an account somewhere.

RB’s column makes for entertaining reading though the angst comes through. Quite whether she is fat, engaged or barren, is besides the point though she tries to make light of it. This invasion of privacy, or more to the point, ads in poor taste though targeted well, will eventually give way to clean networking.
