Blogs are very powerful tool, especially reputable and large ones like this. I am not surprised at all by these statistics as I do click on links and products on blogs I really enjoy and trust.

go green's last blog post..Top 5 Greenest Cars in 2009

Once you got people trust, you may have more than 50% over their buying decision. But as you mentioned it depends on the product.
I am not so sure about the 25% for the advertisers as it's a paid link after all. I for myself stopped giving a big trust on ads. Probably because they are everywhere you go :)

I absolutely see this. It was present in the very early communities that reviewed products and services on the web. We buy with an endorsement from someone who generates positive feelings.

And as Pilgrim now has, what, a half-billion readers or something like that, the site can influence many to purch -- (hey, you're running ads in the right sidebar...cool!)

Thanks for the shout out to the awesome Mentalist show, but what about a link to the study or summary? Got one of those handy?

A blog is a very powerful tool, and a lot of people really underestimate the value of it. People who own blogs can make their visitors do anything but they have to follow a certain procedure first and gain their visitors' trust.

iPwner's last blog post..Week 9 NFL Power Rankings Titans Undefeated!
