i just got my g1 phone and is awesome i think is way cooler than iphone has got a kb which makes everything easier.

Agree with Utah SEO Pro – don’t judge these phones till they have had a chance to bed in – 12 months is needed to fix bugs. Personally I’d never buy a version 1 or anything – let everyone else iron out the bugs & wake me up when it’s ready to use!

The iPhone is obviously superior to the GPhone because of the coolness factor that it has. It already has a lot of great apps and a lot of developers are focusing more on creating iPhone apps. Even Google is releasing iPhone apps before they're releasing it for their own GPhone! Basically, T-Mobile has done what the average phone company has done: crippled a phone’s functionality. Now in this case, you can’t really mess up android as an OS, because it’s editable, and if you ruined that, you may as well put your leg in a mulcher. But what they managed to do is surround it with an inconvenient contract, and it would require users to step down to that service.
I do not call this the GPhone, the title is reserved for a phone that isn’t crippled, we just have to wait; the OS is willing, but the network and parts of the hardware are weak.

Have you actually seen and used the phone Jordan? I’d been interested to know how it truly “feels”. Some great reviews but testing it is the only true way!

I still don’t know anyone who has purchased the G1. Everyone I know either has a blackberry or the Iphone. My phone contract ends in April so I’m looking forward to my next upgrade. Iphone, blackberry, or maybe a G1.

I think you’re right, Dean. For now, it appears that Verizon will stick with the BlackBerry as their closest option. The new Storm, available in November, will feature a touchscreen. I can’t speak for whether it will be a true competitor, but if I can get on that list of people to test devices, I’ll let you know .

The biggest problem with the G1 is not the device, it’s the network. T-Mobile will weigh down the adoption of this device, especially those subscribers that would have to switch from superior networks like AT&T and Verizon.

This begs the question, where is Verizon in all this? No iPhone, no Gphone. Why have they chosen to sit on the sidelines while their competition introduces these revolutionary devices.

I was looking forward to this last year but after buying my iPhone I have to admit that I'm in love. Actually what really got me going last year was the talk of Google buying up the airways and at the same time talking about phones. There was a great rumor that they'd planned to offer free telephone/internet access over the old TV spectrums in return for serving up AdSense content. That would have been wonderful but alas ...
