I hadn't used the ranks.nl tool before (I use a paid tool that does something pretty similar) ... but thanks for the tip, it'll be a useful link to give clients to check their sites.

Haha I like your cartoon on the 2nd slide :D

To add on to your list:

- SpyFu.com - Excellent for PPC. But also useful for organic.

- www.archive.org - Can be useful if they have been business for a long time. You can see how they were (say 3-4 years back). What changes they made in their pricing/services and so on.

- Aiderss.com - Helps you to find out which of your competitors’ posts and topics are engaging people. This should provide you with a list of topics that you should probably be covering in your own site.

- Google Trends for Website (http://trends.google.com/websites?q=marketingpilgrim.com%2C+toprankblog.com&geo=all&date=all&sort=0)

- Google Insight for Search (http://www.google.com/insights/search/)

- Xinu Returns (http://xinureturns.com/) - Find out how well a site is doing in popular search engines, social bookmarking and other site statistics

Saad Kamal's last blog post..Mashable Open Web Awards Nomination Suggestions

I attended this session and it was one of my favorites. And in talking with other attendees, I'm not alone.

While Andy was presenting his list of tools I was furiously typing the URL's and bookmarking them. I was able to put them to use almost immediately (during the session itself).
