Whatever we do, don’t for one minute take the responsibility off the parent’s back. It is the parent who has to figure out how to keep the child in a protected environment. When we take them to school, that is supposed to be a protected environment and if something goes wrong there we it is the school’s responsibility. leaving them to surf the web unsupervised islike taking them to the beach or to a park and leaving them alone. The web is not a protected environment and the responsibility is still the parent’s/ Unless we can figure a legal way to get rid of all th e predators in our society.

The pace the internet is growing and the flexibility of the internet, I think its almost impossible to protect children online. I guess its good they are trying to make an impact though!

Lol, unfortunately, like most studies, this one is pretty ridiculous. As you said, a totally biased source here and there is a tremendous amount of danger for children who don’t know the proper cautions about online usage.

I just don't get the understanding of doing studies like this. The bad part about the study they conducted is that they focus on the internet and not about parents actually parenting their kids better so they don't misbehave and perform risky activities. This is further proof of what I been saying all along more rhetoric to spawn unnecessary spending by the public. These editorials are just put out there with others spewing more information about the obvious to set trends for some marketing purpose. Basically flood the market in this case the internet with ridiculous obvious information so when were ready to push our new security software down your throat you will obviously have to buy it even though you have no obvious idea why.

Did the task force ever think about having myspace contact the minors that the 50,000 sexual predators contacted? Did they review the correspondence? Were the parents notified? Ever?

Here is a good site where parents can ask if their kids were contacted on myspace.
