It'll be interesting to see the real revenue numbers from Google - the larger companies are able to reduce their spend more quickly by virtue of using services like Efficiency Frontier. It may be that there is a lag with hard-pressed SME advertisers taking a little longer to tune their keywords and remove the poorer performing ones, which will balance some of the reductions made by the large advertisers.

I think it is loyalty as well. There are ad networks paying more than Google Adwords but if you change to one of them, do you think you would rank as good as you do in Google at the moment with some other companys ads on your site?

This all makes sense. I think it'll be a long time before Google is overtaken - their ppc is really user friendly and gets results. Sure, it's expensive but many small / medium business owners don't have the time or skills to do anything else - which is a shame natural listings are cheaper in the long haul and obviously last longer.
