It's just a pity that they didn't have a look for some more CEO's whose business was not in the Social Media industry.

I'd be shocked if the TechCrunch.com Co-editor didn't have a presence on Twitter.

Hi Frank,

Thanks so much for posting this follow up. I was honored last summer to be one of those 18 CEOs and I'm honored again to still be included in BusinessWeeks updated list of 50 Twittering CEOs.

Twitter was a natural extension for me as a communications professional. I have been on it since 2007 and I've learned a lot over those few years. I continue to learn new things from the community every day - heck, every hour - and it's a fascinating place to be.

As the community grows, the use of Twitter seems to be changing. It seemed much more intimate and sincere in 2007. Now it's starting to segment a bit more - with celebrities and personalities using it to broadcast for entertainment, for example, rather than true interaction. One way communication and promotion seems a bit more prominent. I hope that it's growth doesn't hinder the underlying spirit of two-way conversation.

I Tweet about everything from work, my staff and clients to personal hobbies, interests (Go Red Sox), family, parenting, fashion and more. Basically, my life. I think there are probably varying opinions on whether this does me and my company (@PerkettPR) "more good or harm," as you ask. I've seen more good come from it thus far - if that ever changes, then I'll let you know.

Thanks again,
Christine Perkett

Frank-

Interesting summary, and questions. I find this to be one of the compelling reasons to use twitter is the flattening of the corporate org chart. Indeed CEOs should be careful, and take a measured approach. Interested in seeing what other commentors have to say as well.
