Lets see if I were the Government and wanted to gain an ever-increasing amount of power over my subjects what would I need to accomplish that. Information, that's it, information. Information is the key to everything. Now where can I go to get the most consolidated and useful information to be found in one place. You know I bet Google has a lot of information, let's put some anti-trust pressure on them to see if we can push them into coming to us. That will make it easier to facilitate a meaningful relationship with them. Hey, it's working, it's working.

Google has nothing to worry about except how long it might take for the Fed to climb all the way into bed with them. Google people are smart enough to act like they're resisting all this government authority and intervention until they've sufficiently worn down the Fed to level the playing field. They can cut a better deal then. Microsoft charted all these waters for them some time ago.

And by the way, the new administration has no intention of limiting lobbying except when it's against their goals. In fact, if you're lobbying on the left hand side of the street, you just might find the government very receptive to your ideas and goals. It's all part of the way things get done. Nobody cuts a deal in DC until there's enough dough in the pot to keep everybody happy. The only losers are those who can't afford to anti-up to get in the game. Oh hey, that's us huh?
