I don't think that Bing will be successful until Microsoft sort out their indexing issues.

For example, sites that have almost all their pages indexed in Google have barely 20% indexed in Bing.

Therefore Bing is not seeing most of the web.

I wish Microsoft would sort this out - they have millions at their disposal and the brightest people working for them.

What's the deal with Bing? Is it really that popular? I've just heard of it lately. I also have a problem getting my site listed with MSN/Bing, so I can't imagine that most webmasters would push towards Bing if they have the same problem... right?

Google scared of Bing?

Hah!

Ask Joe Schmoe on the street 'what is Bing?' 99.9% won't know what you are talking about.

Now ask them if they know what 'google' is.

'google' is now a verb - that should tell you something.

Scared - yeah, right.

google's base strategy is far more sustainable and better than bing. sure bing might have put enough manpower to neutralize googles advantage in a few select areas, but its statistically impossible to keep up with google in this game unless you have the data to keep up. and microsofts solution doesnt help them, it just creates an unsustainable business model and i predict bing will fail entirely in a few years.

I thought there was some sort of mystical power imbued by the magic 28 words. I'm so disillusioned, I'm switching to Bing.

Oh, the stories of yesteryear: http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2008/07/google-gives-on-privacy-link.html

True observation, though certainly not unprecedented. If you visit the Google home page using Internet Explorer you get a big, gaudy advertisement to install Chrome. Google is very choosy in the use of the power of its home page to accomplish a goal, but does do so on occasion.
