It’s a Saturday, so I know you’re not going to work hard today anyway.

For those in the US, I hope you enjoy your hot dogs and fireworks!

Happy 4th of July everyone. I don’t want to post a down note on an otherwise happy holiday but I think it will help everyone get “centered” if they focus on the HISTORY behind the 4th of July. The way the 4th of July is celebrated now it would seem that the USA’s Freedom was a “slam dunk” from day one. These signers of the Declaration were very BRAVE MEN who risked their ALL in the interest of freedom. They knew full well that they would be hung if they lost the war. They knew full well that the British army was the best army in the world (pre-Napoleon, the Brits were beating pretty much any force assembled). Yet they persisted and they bet everything…just to create a country founded on the principles of the Enlightenment.

So, everytime you open another beer can or put another of those yummylicious BBQ ribs on the grill, think about the sacrifice, pain, and BRAVERY that built the USA.

Here’s to the USA! Happy 4th of July everyone!

@MBA – a very well thought out comment, but why risk reducing your credibility with such a spammy commenter name?
