Watching how TechCrunch played the situation was a great (and free!) lesson on viral marketing.

So far this seems to come down to the equivalent of getting your hands on the prom queen's diary, reading it and realizing all she writes about is how to become even more popular. In the end, we'll still vote for her at the prom, because she's pretty, shiny, and new. And Twitter security as a user? Was there ever a time when we thought it was secure?

Poor twitter. Since it has taken an up shoot, one way or other, it seems to land in some pit. First there were rumors of it getting sold off and now this...lolzz

Since Twitter does only let you use 140 characters, and it doesn't really encourage personal information sharing in the same way that say, Facebook does (with all it's different profile info sections etc) I'm sure this could have been worse. And with the limited security it has anyway, it is bound to happen again and again until the backend is cleaned up.

What can I say about Twitter? Well, it has poor security and is constantly being hacked or documents "stolen." When will it end? Twitter is only a microblogging service with 140 characters. Would'nt any person in their right mind go to a place with more security, more traffic and more things to do? Such as Facebook/ Myspace? Only time will tell... but i hope the outcome is the correct one :)

How I wish, tomorrow I wake up to read the breaking news that all this thing about a site coded in half-hour over the weekend, hyped up to the max by the tech blogosphere, hyped to the max again by main stream media, their consistent failures and yet keeping up the buzz was all part of a social media experiment and Twitter shall cease to exist from tomorrow..

Anand's last blog post..Mobile Search Engine Market Share
