I have to agree with your commentators. Adding twitter to a show is very annoying and a waste of screen space.

I'm hearing impaired and must use closed captioning...the 1/3rd take over of the screen estate with Twitter crap makes it near impossible to watch the show. Wise up Fox.

It was not totally a repeat and my husband and I both are finding it extremely irritating. We record and then watch at a later date to be able to skip through the commercials. Now what do we do? We can't skip the Twitter stuff - plus, some of the words were offensive.
If people want to talk on Twitter - then by all means - Go directly to Twitter - just don't subject the rest of the viewing public who just want to be entertained by the picture and story! I sincerely hope this isn't going to be repeated on other Fox programs - about the time I see someone Twitter across the screen when Charles Krauthammer is speaking - that will just be the pits!

fair enough but SERIOUSLY it is a repeat! if people can take it so seriously that for some reason they decide to never ever watch the show again because of that..that's just LAME, i mean it is the 18th episode, it's probably best to start getting into the show much earlier?

If somehow fox lost viewers for season 2 because of this then that's just sad.
and to state the really really obvious.. SEASON 2 ISN'T GOING TO HAVE TWEET-PEAT OK.

go FRINGE!

I think it was a fun idea - as others have said, it was a repeat and I love behind the scenes trivia. Where it didn't work for me was the way Twitter is designed to only show one end of the conversation. For example, Joshua Jackson had a Tweet on screen something about "that was an adlib."

But since we didn't see the question, we don't know what he's referring to. I tried to follow the full feed with the hash tag but literally 100's of tweets were scrolling in at a rate impossible to field.

So basically we had live blogging with the hype of Twitter - it didn't work all that well.

Hey everyone - Thanks for showing us the other side of the argument. I think this goes to show that people are real quick to voice their concerns over something negative but if it was good they don't say anything unless prodded a little. Makes you think about social media and how important it is for brands to mobilize their evangelists to fight off the nay sayers.

Thanks again!

While I can understand the complaints, I agree with Aprille -- I loved it. This was a repeat, geared towards fans of the show. This was not intended for someone who'd never seen it, much like Pop-Up Video. If I'd never seen the episode, it would have driven me crazy, but I loved the insight from the cast and producers and I loved be able to interact. I wish the display area had been a little smaller (and the text a little bigger, it was impossible to read for someone with a pretty small, older TV), but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think with some adjustments Fox can make it work.

It's not like the episodes were new, they were rebroadcast. I think it's cool to see the mix of social media and live TV. Kind of like Pop-Up Video on VH1.

I wonder how representative the feedback is, though. Personally, as a Fringe fan who remembered the episode and is into digging for clues on shows like Fringe & Hero w/ additional hints & backstory elements, I thought it was awesome. Just the repeat would have been a snooze I may not have watched. The interplay of the characters and the other guys w/ each other and the audience, plus their feedback on dets of certain scenes and hints about the new season was very cool.

OK, here's one--anonymized and sanitized:

"get your ******** conversation off my tv. this is the last episode of fringe i will be watching if i see any more damn twittering on it. "

I'm guessing the sentiment on that one is negative. ;-)
