MediaCurves.com conducted a study among 295 viewers of a news clip featuring Google’s new Dashboard, which allows users to view information about their previous searches. Results found that that more than one-third of viewers (38%) reported that they will use Google’s search engine less frequently after learning of the feature. Among the viewers who reported that they would use Google less, more than half (52%) reported that they would use Yahoo as their alternative search engine. Furthermore, nearly half of the viewers (48%) stated that they were “not at all comfortable” with search engine companies monitoring and collecting data from their searches.
More in depth results can be seen at:

Thanks,

While it is easy to praise dominant players when they exhibit such good will, let's not ignore that Google is under heavy attack from different sides, most important Microsoft-Yahoo Deal. This might very well be a kind of marketing act where Google tries to avoid having a big corp image and gain popular trust. I'm curious to find out if what Google shows in dashboard is all that Google has on me...

I admit that Google has proved once again in getting new services and products to its users. Google dashboard is really amazing ,it help to review data for each product that we use and offers you direct links to control personal settings. I have been using it right from the day when it was launched.

@Marvin - Point well taken. That's why the whole 'announcement' is almost a little comical. It's not as if Google invented the dashboard and honestly until you drill down it's just a listing of the high points. Of course, if you are a tech person Google is not really aiming at you on this one either. Most Google users can barely do a search without having their hand held. We play in the pert of the world (Internet marketing etc) where this is all common place. Let's not forget John Q. Public that makes up the VAST majority of the world.

Dashboards have been a standard part of the database market for years. Business executives of all types have used real-time database screens to monitor sales activities, production activity, warehouse levels and a whole variety of things. The Google Dashboard is not a dashboard in the database sense.
