Yep. I’m having a hard time getting worked up over this latest Google flap. I read an article today that went on and on about how Google looks at your information — EVEN YOUR EMAILS! — and then caters ads to you. I think people have this image of a person looking over your shoulder and reading your stuff. But that’s not what happens. They simply have something that scans for keywords, then gives you relevant advertising… Which, I’d think would be good.
It’s the same story with Facebook. Unless they’re doing something evil with it — unless they are publishing your private info or giving it to people who shouldn’t have it — I have a hard time getting upset about these things.
