New Look PinterestNormally when a website or service tries a new look it’s interesting but when that site is all about images it gets very pinteresting (yes, I went there).

Pinterest, the darling of the ‘I don’t like to read, I only like pictures’ set is testing a new look with a few of its members. According to the Pinterest blog

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be testing an update to with a small group of people soon. With this update, we’ve tried to take your feedback into account. We’re eager to learn even more from some of you during this test. Here’s some of our thinking behind the new look:

Easier to get around

We made the navigation more intuitive, so it’s faster to get to where you want to go.

More is, well, more

Pins are bigger and we’ve added more information related to pins, so it’s easier to find things you’re interested in. For example, on each pin, you’ll see pins from the same board, other boards this pin was pinned to, and a whole slew of related pins.

In addition to the changes you can see, we also made some improvements behind the scenes that we hope will make things faster.

So essentially the goal is to make Pinterest easier, faster and bigger.

What else can you say? Here’s a picture.

Bigger Pinterest Images

Are you on pins and needles over the new look? Are you pinning your marketing hopes on better performance from the new look? You get the picture? (Ha, get it?! Phew, I’ve got the comedy speedometer pinned right now ….)

  • Looks like they’re moving in the right direction. I’ve always found navigating the site to be tricky and this looks like you’ll have more browsing options on each pinned pic. I like it.

  • Ok, looks good. Why not? An improvement is always a good thing, right? Plus, it will be more user-friendly and faster, so I say “go for it”. Pinterest 🙂

  • Looks really very great. I like to use Pinetrest is working to make the site better for its users. However I am desperatly waiting on a much bigger change and updates to pintrest search function. It would be really great for me if pinterest will update its search function to include different keyword match types.
