The guy has overcome big challenges, made big moves in the industry, and has made a big name for himself in marketing circles. So, with that, let’s ask Dave some big questions.

Q1. It seems in the blink of an eye you went from BlueGlass, to SteelCast, to Copypress. What was the toughest thing about that transition?

I heard someone shout Taco Bell, someone else yelled Coca-Cola. I heard Disney and Kraft. Good answers, but you’re way off. The brand with the most loyal Facebook following is. . . . St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I feel really good about that. But the other 19 brands on the Top 20 list, aren’t as altruistic.

The numbers come from LoudDoor’s new Brand Satisfaction dashboard which tracks every major brand on Facebook. Then, using surveys, they determine what percentage of the followers are “Promoters”, “Passives” and “Detractors.” They do this by asking how likely a fan would be to recommend the page to a friend.

Girl Scouts Shut Down Reality Star (?) For Selling Cookies Online

Incredibly, this isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned the low brow, precocious pageant princess on Marketing Pilgrim, but I believe it’s the first time I wrote a piece based on a tip from TMZ. For that, I apologize, but I think there’s something worth discussing here.

The story goes like this: little Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo), posted a banner on her official Facebook page offering to sell autographed boxes of Girl Scout cookies by mail.

Alana is not a Girl Scout. She was selling the cookies on behalf of a friend and the instructions clearly stated that money orders were to be made out to the troop. She was doing a good deed but the Girl Scouts made her stop.
