LinkedIn has redesigned their groups offering to help increase the mileage that users get from their efforts on the professional networking site.
The LinkedIn blog tells us
LinkedIn Groups, one of our most popular products on LinkedIn, is getting a major redesign with a beautiful new look and feel.
As part of our ongoing efforts to make LinkedIn easier and simpler to use, we’ve brought a new streamlined look that will give Group managers and Group members the ability to customize and visually differentiate their conversation space.
The new design does look sharp and gives the groups a more professional look and feel. Of course, no matter how these pages look you can’t get away from some of the content and the ‘salesperson’s web to capture prospects’ feel of some groups. Not there is anything wrong with that but it’s the manner in which many go so hamfistedly (yes, that is now a word) about the task of trying to reach folks.
Here is a look at the new design
If you are not familiar with groups the folks at LinkedIn have put together this very simple infographic as well which gives some insights into the reach of the Groups feature.
