Google Preparing to Offer Radio AdWords?

TechToolBlog has received a survey request from Google that appears to focus purely on radio ads.

One of the more interesting and revealing questions was that Google was planning on putting advertisers directly in touch with production talent for creating radio advertisments. I am betting they have some sort of GUI interface were you put in copy, type of voice to be used, pause points, emphasied points etc… and Google pushes it to a production house

Google certainly has the capabilities to offer radio ads and the last time they sent out a client survey, it focused on prints ads, which Google later launched.

Coming Next Week, We’ll Reveal the Search Engine Secrets

We’ve received a lot of positive feedback for our recent upgrades to SEMLogic and many of you have viewed the video demo. We wanted to let you know that starting next week, we’re going to lift the lid on what it takes to get a web site on the first page of Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Each week for the next 3 weeks, we’ll pick an extremely competitive keyword and then reveal SEMLogic’s findings on what each search engine is looking for, in order to be ranked for that keyword.

Is backlink quality more important on Google than Yahoo? Does MSN look more at the title tag than Google and Yahoo? What weight do each of the search engines give to on-page factors?

Does Google Get Social Networking?

CNET looks at what appears to be one of Google’s weak areas, social networking. True, it has Orkut and Blogger can be considered a social network, but Orkut is mostly for the Brazillian mafia and – even though I user Blogger – it’s not had a major update since Google acquired it.

Podcasts More Popular Than Blogging?

ClickZ has details of a misleading study conducted by Nielsen//NetRatings that suggests podcasts are more popular than blogging. Be sure to catch the subtleties in the study’s claims…

“More people have downloaded a podcast lately than have published a blog”

It’s not apples to apples, folks. What we need to compare is how many have published a blog, compared to the number publishing a podcast OR how many have read a blog compared to those who have listened to a podcast. I’m sure blogs trump podcasts in either scenario.

Meet the Fortune Interactive Team

You’ve heard a lot recently about the great things going on at Fortune Interactive. I wanted to share a photo of the team that has made it all possible.

I may be biased, but these are some of the finest search marketers I have ever had the privilege to work with. Without their efforts, Fortune Interactive would not be the great company it is today!

Yahoo’s Laura Lippay Discusses SEO With Lee Odden

Lee Odden has an entertaining interview with Laura Lippay, SEO Program Manager for Yahoo.

Here’s some snippets…

Lee – I see from your Y360 blog that you once worked in the circus. SEO seems like a circus sometimes. Are there any similarities?

Laura – You can say that the ever-changing search marketing world feels like a circus sometimes, but really…we’re talking dudes in spandex flying out of a cannon versus quiet brainiacs sitting behind a computer all day.

Lee – Do you get to use knowledge of Yahoo “secret sauce” in your job?

Laura – Unfortunately, I don’t get any secret sauce from the Search people. I have to get them drunk and hope to get secrets out of them just like everyone else.
